Rental Requirements & Important Information

⚠️ Upcoming Changes to Rentals

We will soon be transitioning to a new rental system.
This will change how rentals are booked and how verification is handled.

All rentals on or after April 8th must be booked through our new system.
New reservations for these dates will not be available through our current system.

Existing bookings made prior to this change will be honored or transferred as needed.

The new booking system will be available starting April 8th.
If you need to book a rental for April 8th or later, please wait until the new system is available or contact the store for assistance.

During this transition, rental requirements and procedures may be updated at any time.

Rental Approval & Verification

All rentals are subject to approval. Meeting verification requirements does not guarantee approval.

To rent equipment, the following are required at pickup:

Accepted providers include PG&E, SMUD, Xfinity, Sacramento Water Agency, and similar.

If needed, you may email your utility bill in advance to:
rentals@actioncamera.com

Important

If you are unable to provide the required documentation and complete the verification and deposit process, you will not be able to rent equipment. No exceptions will be made.

If someone else wishes to rent on your behalf, they must complete the rental process themselves and assume full responsibility for the equipment.

Deposit Authorization

A deposit authorization for the full retail value of the equipment (plus tax) is required.

New Customers & Limited Rental History

All new renters are required to:

Customers with limited rental history or no rental activity within the past 6 months may also be required to complete the full deposit process again.

Established Customers

After a history of successful rentals, deposit requirements may be reduced or waived at store discretion.

Additional Notes

A temporary hold will be placed on your card and released after equipment is returned.

Pickup & Return Times

Late pickups may be subject to additional fees.

Early Pickup

Available with at least 24 hours notice (not guaranteed)

Closed on Sundays

We are closed on Sundays.
Please do not schedule returns on Sunday.

(The extra day is almost free.)

Refunds & Fees

Equipment Use & Responsibility

Renters are responsible for knowing how to use rented equipment, including compatibility with accessories.

Action Camera does not provide training on rental equipment. Please ask questions before your rental begins.

No refunds will be given due to lack of familiarity.

Important: We do not provide camera or lens bags. Please bring your own.

Rental Conditions

By renting equipment, you agree:

Action Camera reserves the right to charge for the full value of unreturned equipment.

The lessor assumes no responsibility for damages or liability resulting from use.

Final Notes

Fraudulent activity, misuse, or failure to return equipment will be addressed accordingly.
Action Camera reserves the right to pursue recovery of equipment and losses, including filing police reports and involving law enforcement when necessary.
